Photograph of a Greek Orthodox monk having a meal of grapefruit in his quarters at oasis of Wadi Feiran in the Sinai Peninsula. The monk is a member of the Saint Catherine’s Monastery. The monk tends a garden including grapefruit and other citrus trees in the oasis and leads a monastic life of simplicity, spirituality, and worship. The Monastery of Saint Catherines aka Saint Katherines is officially named The Sacred and Imperial Monastery of the God-Trodden Mount of Sinai. The elder monk wears a beard and the black cloak habit and cap of the Orthodox Christian order. He patiently squeezes all the juice out of the fruit.
