The Sinai Peninsula is in Egypt and has a timeless rugged and dry landscape. It is beautiful though often desolate. In the Exodus book of the Bible, the Sinai desert was the home of the Israelite wanderings following Moses when they escaped Egypt. The drylands geology includes deposits of alluvial loess.
