Photograph in the mosque at top of Jebel Haroun, the biblical Mount Hor, which holds the tomb of the prophet Aaron, near Petra in Jordan. In the book of Exodus of the Bible, Aaron is the brother of Moses and the first Jewish priest. His tomb is covered with a drape of green cloth, a holy color in Islamic religion. Aaron is a prophet in Jewish, Muslim, and Christian religions, and the tomb is respected as a sacred biblical site. Mt. Hor is also called El-Barra, a mountain 4580 feet high. His tomb is guarded by a local Arab man. Photograph by Nathan Benn taken November 13, 1974.
